ellie's first birthday party: the invites.

one final post on e's birthday party -- the invites! to keep the it simple, i designed these in powerpoint (maybe some day i'll have illustrator, but for now this is my go to!). i snagged some white cards & hot pink envelopes at my favorite paper store when ryan & i were in charlottesville, printed them on our home computer & hot glued candles from target on them. a little washi tape to seal them & voila!
dreaming of christmas cards.
it's no secret that i'm a bit over the top about christmas cards. they're one of my favorite traditions of all time. so, by the time october rolls around, i'm thinking about them. a lot. our little family has a habit of having something late in the year that really should be the image on the card, so i'm never able to order them in september like i'd like to (i know, it's ridiculous). this year is no different. it'll be november before i can place our order, but that doesn't stop me from dreaming.
we'll be going with minted for ours again. we're just over the moon about them. we did our save the date, ellie's birth announcement & this will be our fourth christmas card with them! (i'm actually thinking of stringing them all up on the mantle this christmas!). here are three designs i'm just loving (click on images for links). for me, the final choice is about uploading your image & then having this "yep, that's IT" moment. i can't wait!
it's almost the season! xo

Thu, October 18, 2012 at 8:00 AM my fav way to track baby milestones (& a giveaway!!).

i'm sooo excited to share my favorite way i've been documenting ellie's first days! it all began when i was home in october & my mom showed me this amazing calendar she kept for me during my first year. it was so neat to see the people who came to see me when i was days old who are still a part of my life, or see when i first scooted backwards (real love is a mom who documents that!).
so, when i came across this adorable calendar, i couldn't e-mail kristen of homeseed fast enough to snag one. it's been such an easy, precious way to capture all of ellie's little moments, our visitors & outings. it will be even more fun to look back on with her in the year's to come. i have some other baby books i'm trying to keep up with, but this has ended up being my fav. i especially love the little pendants that tell you how many months old the baby is that month!
here's the best part -- kristen has been oh so generous enough to offer a calendar giveaway for you lovely t&f readers! all you have to do is give her a good old facebook like & leave a comment below with your favorite baby milestone (sitting up? crawling? smiling? the belly laugh?). this would be wonderful for your little one or your favorite parents-to-be as a gift! what a keepsake! hurry up & enter!
if you'd like to buy one: $25 + $2 for domestic shipping; email: kristen@homeseedpaper.com
homeseed is such a neat paper goods company check out her a-dorable baby shower invites for my favorite site, minted! p.s. brides to be, check her wedding design out too -- i LOVE these!

Wed, November 23, 2011 at 10:13 AM christmas card swooning.
if you've been reading t&f for a bit, you know i can be a tad bit enthusiastic, so words like "favorite" are tough for me. case & point, i just went to check out the christmas cards i had marked as "favorites" on minted and there were two pages. including all the ones above. whoops. but seriously, aren't they all so great?!
you can go mark your favorites here. but don't say i didn't warn you, it's hard to stop.
i'm so excited to order our cards for this year -- exchanging cards with loved ones is one of my favorite traditions ever. check out our last two christmas cards here & here!
p.s. minted is 20% off through 10/10, it pays to be an early bird!
