sailing.

so, this was definitely the first weekend of spring in p'cola and when you're lucky enough to have a friend and groomsman who LIVES on a sailboat (really), that's pretty fabulous.

i LOVE going to the fair. there's something that just screams summer about it. all the bright colors. ridiculous food. and how it lights up like a city at night. this photo is from the pensacola fair last year, but really any fair will do. what are you missing about summer?

my job means i travel, a lot. on a trip back from san fran i got the best travel trick i've ever gotten: peppermint oil. if the smells on airplanes make you a little woosy or if you'd love an easy way to relax when you sit down (airplanes are still the last place most of us aren't online!) -- dab a little peppermint oil under your nose. i now can't get on an airplane without it. it's also great for cooling, so sometimes i dab a little on the back of my neck or wrists. happy travels!

valentine's morning, we were with dear friends in athens, georgia. and like the amazing hosts they are, they took us to the best bakery around, a completely precious place called "ike & jane." if you are remotely close to athens, you really must go. best donuts of our lives -- and the red velvet ones are worthy of seconds. amazing latte too, and how cute is this mug? (which i bought as a souvenir of this perfect morning!)

even better than donuts? spending time with a dear friend.

on friday, we made our way to atlanta. from pensacola, that means a lot of southern alabama and georgia, but the drive that day made me feel like i was going to chicago! the photo above was what the whole drive looked like! my ever prepared husband went a little overboard in ensuring snow wouldn't get in the way of us having ample road trip snacks. when we got to atlanta, the city was so incredibly quiet, but we were determined to have dinner & a movie, so we had a wonderful dinner for two at the only restaurant open in atlantic station, rosa mexicano, and went to a very uncrowded theater to see:

the company i work for is based out of dc, and that meant a snow day today! so, even though i'm in sunny pensacola, it was my husband's last day before a new phase of flight training, so we took the afternoon for a little road trip to fairhope, alabama. i put on my current favorite j.crew winter in the south road trip outfit: this and this
