hello all! so yesterday was when we turned that corner -- there is less to unpack than is already unpacked and this place is really feeling like home and i love it. last night we made our first dinner -- still no fridge, so we kept it simple with my all time fav. today there will be lots more unpacking/organizing and cleaning these wood floors! i'm thinking by this weekend we'll be ready to hang things on the walls, sit on our front porch and take a walk around the neighborhood and soak up these early days of fall in virginia. can you tell i'm a little excited?!

i'm also actively trying to not rush through this time, so this morning (instead of immediately hitting the boxes) i nestled in our new couch with a cup of tea and wandered around some of my favorite blogs. now i'm ready to go, fully inspired, so i had to share some of my favs with you:

last night we were at target & ryan kept pointing to things with bright colors for me (turns out all my work on the house clothes are neutrals) -- this pop of color made me think of him (blue shirt for me today!)

we're in virginia!

hi there! we had a wonderful road trip to norfolk especially stops in atlanta & charlotte! it was so fun to explore some great american cities and not be in such a rush. highlights on the culinary front were dinner at fritti in atlanta and nolen kitchen in charlotte (suggested by the same sweet girl who took this incredible honeymoon to canada!) - we highly recommend both!

now we're getting settled in our new city and excited to move in our new house (photos to come later this week!) i got to catch up on blogs for the first time in a while (gotta love the navy lodge with an ice cream vending machine & free internet!) and thought you might love these:

the past week has been a zoo! we had ryan's winging, drove to norfolk to try to find a house, flew to indiana to see my family and visit our lake house, back to p'cola for a wedding and now are getting ready for the movers to arrive! it's hard to believe this is our last week in p'cola. so, i've gotten a few posts up this past week, but honestly haven't had much time to even open my ibook, but here i am, with some fun posts in mind and a few lovely guest posts to share while we make the move!
