easter egg decorating!

monday night, i had a bunch of girls over for some easter egg decorating. it was really just an excuse to get together, eat, drink & gab, but it was a fun excuse! i used our big old dining room table, covered it with a $3 table cloth i found at old navy & set up four "stations." you could make marbleized eggs (just add a tablespoon of olive oil to normal mixture) or add stickers or make designs with electrical tape or just dye them a solid color.

all the girls brought AMAZING food & wine to share (eek, i stopped taking photos and started talking as soon as they got here & hence only have photos of these adorable plates from target!) it was SUCH a fun night. photos of the final eggs soon! xo

p.s. remember when ryan & i decorated eggs last year? (more tips there!)

homemade notecards.

so, last night i found these awesome notecards i bought on sale forever ago and before i knew it i had opened my stamp drawer (yes, i have a stamp drawer) and found my initial stamps (which i got in my stocking last christmas), this rad cow stamp, and my trusty black ink pad. voila, homemade notecards. the best part? it was such an easy, inexpensive way to make some pretty cool personalized notecards. the secret? the cow stamp is in the dollar bin at michaels. you want to know what else is? all of these:

ah, the possibilities! now, go have fun & buy some stamps!

return address stamp.

one of my favorite ways we saved money for our wedding was by ordering a custom return address stamp. we used it for the save the dates, and all our thank you notes, and our christmas cards ... and now, i even use it on the water bill! most invites/save the dates cost at least 50 cents per envelope to print the return address (and that cost adds up quickly!) so this becomes an amazing thing to have around. the fun thing is stamp pads are cheap, so you can switch the color up. i did robin's egg blue for the save the dates and red for the christmas cards. i'm so excited to move this fall and order a new one! click on the images above if you love one of them or click here, here or here for lots more designs!

being kids on easter.

this easter, i really wanted to take some time to dye eggs. i bought a $1.50 color kit, a 24 pack of eggs (plenty of room for mistakes) and some electrical tape to make designs. it was so. so. fun.

H for husband, W for wife, Y for yonkman and M for mary (i had to make a pink egg!)

how was your Easter?
