honest co.

so, we've really loyally used pamper's swaddlers since ellie was born. they've been a great diaper, but as i've read more & more about honest co. then tried their sample of diapers, i started to really think about all the chemicals in other diapers. every time i do the "smell test" to see if e needs a diaper change before we leave, i can literally smell the chemicals in the pamper's swaddlers. i remember being struck by the lack of that smell while we were trying the honest co. diapers and how comforting that was.

there's no way we can or will keep every harmful chemical away from ellie, but diapers are against her skin 24 hours a day, we want to be a little more careful. all the other eco diapers we've tried haven't worked as diapers & honestly, we're just not in a place where cloth diapering is going to work for us. so, as i price compared my amazon subscribe and save pampers diapers & wipes, we're going to pay a little more each month for honest co., but i think the peace of mind is well worth it. plus, the designs are so stinking cute!!! just placed my first bundle order -- will let you know how it goes! i've struggled with this decision, so just in case you are too, i wanted to share our story.

to all you not in the diaper business, sorry for this lengthy post on them, but don't worry, i'm not going to leave you hanging -- honest co.'s cleaning supplies are a-mazing!!!!

above is e, speeding by in her trial honest co. diaper!

We are due with our first baby in March and I keep seeing Honest Co. ads everywhere online. It seems like a good deal, so I'm really glad you posted about it. Let us know how you like the bundle and products! Thanks!!

Thank you so much for creating this post Mary! I'm expecting my first in a few months and I've been toying with cloth vs Honest diapers. Excited for a follow up post on how you like their bundle service. Will you be using their wipes as well, or do you have another brand that you prefer?

Due to the awful Pampers smell we started using cloth diapers a few months ago and are happy that change.
I hope your alternative also works wonders for you - in Europe I have never heard of that brand.

I really wanted to love the Honest Co. diapers because I think their mission and bundle system are great ideas. However, they just didn't work for us. My then 16-month old kept wetting through hers, especially on naps and overnights. The diapers didn't seem to hold as much, or as well, as the Seventh Generation ones (the only other brand we've used after a year of cloth). We had just gone up a size and she was at the low range for the weight, so I know it wasn't the common leaking-cuz-they're-too-small sizing issue. I was afraid they might give me a hard time about canceling my subscription but it was handled easily and professionally, which was great. The associate who cancelled my orders said they are always working to improve products, so I might give them a try again when my now 4-month old moves out of cloth diapers. Will have to try the cleaning products, too!

Good luck with the Honest Co. diapers! Do you still have your Amazon Subscribe & Save benefits? My Amazon Mom account just expired today and I am so lost. I don't know what to do without Subscribe & Save! Did you buy an Amazon Prime account?
