the best news.
sweet readers, ryan & i have some BIG news: we're having a baby!! we could not be more thrilled, excited, and over the moon about this enormous blessing!! i've also been beyond excited to share this with you, i just needed to survive this first trimester! it's also the reason for my extended absence on t&f -- i've had quite the bout with morning sickness and a rough first 12 weeks to say the least. i feel like i'm starting to turn the corner & am so excited to fill you in on some funny stories. for any of you who ever have felt or are feeling like i have the past six weeks, i'll share some things that helped me survive.
in the meantime, this will be the first of three posts on how i told ryan. plan number one was to use this video to tell him. i imagined he would come home from the squadron one day and i'd play this video (click link to see it best!) for him ... only by watching the whole thing would he know the big surprise. well, life had other plans for how i would tell him (as you'll soon hear!), but i did get to show him this video & think he liked it :) my hope was is it would capture the truly amazing first year and a half of marriage we've had and how much fun this little one is going to add.
thanks for your patience, love, warmth, kind emails and understanding -- the baby & i are thrilled to be back! t&f will always be about everything from good books, to thoughts on married life, fantastic recipes and places you should pack your bag for, now we're just going to add a little baby love to the mix!

Congrats! It is one of the most sacred exeriences a couple can have together! Our little girl, Reese Alessi Ramsey, is 3 1/2 months old now. Being a mom is the hardest but most rewarding job ever. Congratulations!!! I love the video; it is such a great idea. I was tearing up because babies are such a joy and as I watched the end of the video I was remembering the feeling of finding out I was pregnant and of sharing the news. However you ended up telling Ryan was perfect because all those feelings were there. So excited for you guys and for this baby because he or she is very lucky to have you as parents. Yay!
