our laundry room.

so, i can't believe after sharing my linen closet & closet, i'd post about my laundry room, but honestly, this room makes me so happy. it used to be this plain, cold room (literally -- the floor was frigid) & we've totally brightened it up.
first, this fantastic/affordable dash & albert rug. some gorgeous succulents in galvanized bins ($4 each!). artwork my sweet friend made. two of my favorite frames & one of my favorite engagement photos -- and, it's organized! the charms of an old house include old cabinets with character. they perfectly hold paper towels, detergent (which ryan calls "washing machine soap" - he's so cute) and footballs on duck tape. my favorite part? the late afternoon sunlight that pours in.
let's just say it's a tad brighter/girlier than ryan would have made it, but hey i was considering hot pink for the walls & i do a lot of the laundry (wink, wink). plus, there are usually flight suits hanging up, so that makes it very manly. next ridiculous part of the house to show you? our pantry! (is anyone out there enjoying these?)

yes! organization ideas are ALWAYS appreciated. love the picture frames and i'm SO jealous of your fantastic washer/dryer setup. My washer scoots across the room on the spin cycle!
so jealous of your sink! i always have to do my hand-laundering in the bathroom and it's just not the same.
can't believe you just moved in this house less than a year ago! bravo, my dear.
my washer does that too!! we have this "highly efficient european washer/dryer combined duo" (which if you know anything about W/D's in europe, they are NOT highly efficient!) that holds ~ 1 pair of my 6'2" husband's jeans and when it's on spin cycle, it thumps its way back and forth across the tiny closet that it's built into. it sounds like a tornado on steroids! oh the joys of living in a tiny urban high rise.
i seriously DREAM of double-stacked front loading W/D's. someday, someday...
ha, well the photo doesn't show that our washer definitely moves around -- the rug (totally practical) makes it so and we're still coming up with a solution! :)
YES. This laundry room makes me so happy. I dream of the day to have a laundry room like this! I love your personal touches, and especially the sunlight pouring in in your laundry room. What a great way to make a chore a little brighter.
I have LOVED the pantry in our house on base in Meridian. It's just enormous, and organized, and so so wonderful.
Sad news: my laundry room consists of my washer and dryer at the bottom of the stairs in our concrete floor basement. I'm so jealous of yours! It's beautiful!
yes we are! I love reading your Blog and your house is darling!
Hi! I happened upon that print of the couple with the red umbrellas on another blog a few days ago. Where did you get it? Thanks!! And your laundry room is wonderful. :)
Love it! So upbeat and friendly! Adoring these posts!
I have the same "Laundry 15 cents" sign at my house above the washer and dryer :)
