a winter ritual.

last night, we were expecting another snow in virginia and it was such a winter evening. i thought we could use some real hot chocolate. heating up the milk, mixing in the chocolate, topping it with whipped cream & even adding on some sprinkles. in an age when you can push a button and get a hot drink, there's a ritual to making one that felt so good.

a few years ago, i was in a bible study where the sweet host would make this for us each week & i've never forgotten it. there was something about those thursday evenings, where that hot chocolate made with such care was such a love language. every now & then when we have people over for dinner, i actualy serve it as dessert!
