four small moments.

i'm so mindful today of how many times in the past 24 hours i've apologized because of how "crazy life is" -- that email it's taken me weeks to respond to, the friend who i still haven't called back, going thru a pile of papers and realizing i totally dropped the ball on something, looking around a house that has never been this messy, and just generally feeling like no matter what i do, i can't get my head above water. (maybe this is just part of being an adult? :)
and, as i keep telling ryan, i've turned into a "nesting tornado." i'm not even sure it's safe for a type a, over achieving, nester to be pregnant -- i'm in overdrive. i was cleaning the brush bristles on my hand steamer last night, folks. the hand steamer i use maybe once a month (maybe).
and so when i plugged my phone into my computer, because it was almost dead (a sign of how crazy work is...) and these images popped up, i had a huge smile come across my face and i took a deep breath. cause, life may be crazy, but it's also really wonderful. these four small moments in the past week were beautiful and reminded me why it's important to notice them. from the top:
1. walking in the grocery store & realizing the one thing that's not on your list, fresh flowers, is exactly what your house needs right now.
2. driving home from birthing class and knowing it's obviously a message from above when the "hot now" sign comes on at krispie kreme right as we're driving past. the best part? the drive thru woman convincing us that really it made no sense to get half a dozen, we should get the full dozen.
3. amidst a weekend of a thousand to do's to get ready for our baby girl, taking a break to share some gelato with my sweet husband.
4. ok, so i wanted to go to a pumpkin farm, and am really bummed we haven't (a blogger rite of passage for the fall it seems!), but that the church down the street had some really great pumpkins & these little ones have made our house feel ready for the season.
hope you're having a really wonderful week! xo

i love instagram! and those are such great moments. :) i made the execute decision last night when we walked by the pumpkins at the grocery that pumpkin carving loses it's charm if it's sitting on the snow covered porch... kind of sad.
