early morning date in boise.

this weekend, we were in lovely boise, idaho for a wedding of a dear friend. and, ryan & i accidentally went on a date sunday morning -- it was wonderful! we woke up earlier than expected (mountain time meant 7 a.m. felt like 9 a.m.) and the bride had told me there was a "very mary place" a "short walk" from our hotel. well, she was (no joke) a power walking champ in idaho, so i guess 15 blocks counts as a short walk.
the best part? it ended up feeling like a date & we really got to explore boise (especially when we missed a turn & added some blocks). plus, she was so right -- big city coffee is so great. and it's in the linen district of boise, which i just loved too. (i kept peering in the windows of the cute stores hoping they would magically open at 8 a.m. on a sunday).
p.s. this photo doesn't do justice to how big & wonderful that latte was. this sweet friend and i also checked out flying m, boise has great coffee shops!
p.s.s. any boise readers out there? (not including martha who is obligated to read & on her honeymoon in argentina! ;))
married life,
pack your bags,
yum

Mary,
I read about 30 blogs a day, but yours is always one that bring a smile to my face. You're a lovely woman and a inspired wife--and although I rarely write comments I just wanted you to know that your blog is appreciated.
Also, prayers have been said for both you and Ryan as you begin this new chapter of separation and service.
