when i relax.

so, when i finally crash and rest, i love a good tv episode. earlier, i told you about my love for brothers & sisters. two other shows have creeped into my favs: i'm absolutely loving parenthood and friday night lights. i also told you ryan & i loved working our way through all of west wing and entourage -- and season 6 of entourage is about to hit netflix! even more exciting, this preview for season 7 is ridiculous. what are you watching these days? (today is a books and movies day i guess ;)

have you read the emily griffin books.. something borrowed, something blue, and baby proof? seriously read them in record time. good, easy reads!

if you want something heavier.. i highly suggest table in the presence. its written by a chaplain serving with the marines and how this group experienced God among the crazyness in Iraq.

and another military read is Lone Survivor. it's about a seal team and their fight.

both military ones are awesome. some wives told me not to read them because i didn't need to know more about what was going on (so i wouldn't be scared i guess?) but i loved every page in both of those books. and we all know that in reality our husbands are going to face hard times.

we are loving "how i met your mother" to relax/laugh/escape. we actually watched an episode w/ momma harris when she was visiting a few weeks ago and she laughed and laughed and thought it was so funny and said "you know, this is actually a funny show, it really makes you laugh; not a lot on TV makes you laugh anymore" [she watches a lot of CSI and stuff :]

and i definitely second the emily giffin books. they are all SO.GOOD. perfect for summer/not wanting to think but just relax & enjoy a book!

I love Brothers and Sisters!! And I just so happened to have partied in New Orleans this weekend for a bachelorette party where we ran into the actors that play Kevin and Justin- and all 10 of us danced with them for a while before moving down Bourbon street. Totally exciting.
I loved the first season of Parenthood and the first couple of seasons of FNL (before it went to cable). And Rob is more of a fan than I am, but we both watched the premiere for Entourage on Sunday.
Other than Army Wives, my only summer shows are reality- cupcake wars, top chef, and project runway.

I actually saw Lone Survivor on my friend's night stand yesterday. I think I'll borrow it from my neighbor to read while we're home on leave.
My most favorite recent read was The Help by Kathryn Stockett.
