so, a story: three years ago ryan & I had just met. i had also just started a really intense job. one night, we were supposed to hang out. ryan drove in from annapolis and when he picked me up from work i hesitantly told him i really needed to go on a run. i can be a whole new person with a run, and that day, i needed one. ryan didn't miss a beat, "absolutely. go for a run." i took a lloonngg run and when i got back, ryan had pizza and blue moon for us.
that's when i knew i was going to marry him. i'm only sort of kidding. that night was the nba draft, and i love the nba draft. plus, some big time indiana players were going to go first round. we watched the draft over pizza and blue moon, had an awesome conversation, and the rest is history. last year, we were engaged and i happened to be in p'cola for the draft. we did our pizza and blue moon gig again. this year, i realized this could be a legit tradition for us. and i'm all about tradition.
so we made pizza using this homemade crust, sausage, mozerella cheese and this great pizza sauce. we put together my favorite salad: arugala, fresh parmesan, lemon juice, olive oil salt and pepper. and topped it all off with some ice cream sandwiches. i love watching the nba draft mainly to watch the moms. sure enough, i had tears in my eyes when they interviewed the number one draft pick's mom. it was such a good night.
do you have any family traditions you'd love to share?
