denver weekend.

so, i just spent the most amazing weekend in denver with my best friend, who moved there a week ago to start her residency in family medicine. we set out to explore and boy did we fall in love with her new city.

the first morning we literally googled "best breakfast place in denver" (kaitlin and i have a long tradition of finding awesome breakfast spots) turns out the winner, snooze, was only a few minutes away. oh my goodness. the lattes. the food. the exposed brick. it was perfect.

next up, we went to explore, the tattered cover, an amazing bookstore and i fell in love with this precious children's book: here comes the bride. the illustrations are AMAZING!

speaking of books, i mentioned kaitlin and her husband had just moved in. and from this blog, you know i'm a tad type a, so kaitlin let me organize their bookshelf! this is like christmas morning for me :) p.s. how cool is their bookshelf? her husband BUILT it and b. their wedding photos are incredible.

so back to food, saturday afternoon we found a snack at marczyk and a really long dinner at olivea. both were places i could go every day. i think we had the good food fairy following us because we kept stumbling upon the best places.

on sunday after an amazing church service at denver community church, we wandered around larimer street and found one of my new favorite stores in the world: posh "unexpected urban wares"

finally, two cool buildings as we wandered around downtown denver. as you can tell, it was an incredible weekend-- we spent most of our time talking and found wonderful places in her new city to have those conversations. more thoughts on visiting dear friends in a bit!

do you teleport by any chance? i think this would be a fantastic superpower given all of your travel and perhaps i could even convince you to teleport to my guest room for a little christmas morning action on my bookshelf?
