married tax refund splurges.

my sweet husband finished up our first married taxes and it turns out marriage and combining our incomes was a fabulous thing! most exciting is it means we can get two pretty important splurges:

first, an awesome dyson vacuum because i have terrible allergies and we own no rugs yet, so we have to vacuum a lot. secondly, a truly incredible briggs and riley carry-on suitcase because i travel every other week and after a great tutorial in an atlanta luggage shop (on a seven hour delay), i think this bag will change my life.

got any plans for your tax refund? (don't worry mom, we're saving the rest)

I was just contemplating a new vacuum for my first paycheck this summer this weekend. Glad to know that someone else had the same thought!

ooh, jealous of the dyson. we couldn't spring for the real thing, so we got the bissell pet pro. pretty good...but it's no dyson.

now all you guys are missing is a dog!

Hi Mary! A couple thoughts for you regarding the vacuum. I splurged on the Dyson Animal a few months ago, mainly because the baby was starting to crawl and my old vacuum made me angry so I almost never used it. Anyway, tonight I was vacuuming and thinking about how much more pleasant the experience is now! So I think, as far as splurges go, the Dyson is a good one. A friend recently told me that he buys "20% off" coupons for Home Depot on Ebay whenever he has to make a big purchase. (He usually pays about $5 for the coupon.) Anyway, I think they sell Dysons at Home Depot. Thought I'd pass that along in case it can save you some of that hard-earned tax rebate! :)

My husband (only 24, but a military-inspired neat freak) bought a Dyson Ball this weekend with his birthday money and is in love. So far it's work the splurge.
