ready!

we are ready for christmas!
quick aside, a few months ago, i was sitting on a plane in front of a little girl who was on her very first flight. as soon as she was seated and ready to go, she was under the impression the plane would immediately take off (wouldn't that be nice!) so, she very sweetly kept saying, "reeaddyyy, reeaddyy." when, at last, we finally started taxiing (for about 20 minutes in all) she became very concerned (we still weren't flying) at that point she started offering helpful advice to the pilot: "higggheerr, hiiggghhherr." when we finally landed, she burst into applause and said just as many times, "good job! good job!" i'm sure other passengers were annoyed, but i thought it was hilarious. "reaaddyy" has become an inside joke in our marriage. any time i'm impatiently waiting on something (which is a good amount of the time) i say, "readdyy, readdyy."
so, we are ready for christmas! and loving it in our new digs!!
home sweet home,

Looks so festive, Mary! I love the presents on the sofa table and your nutcracker army :) I've been doing some decorating this week, and we're getting our tree tonight- can't wait!
The airplane story is hilarious! We actually have an airplane inside joke, too. There was a little boy seated several rows in front of us with his mom and a sibling in one row and his dad across the aisle. During the safety speech, he apparently had trouble with his seat belt, and kept yelling loudly, "Daddy! Daddy! My seat belt is damaged! Daddy, it's damaged!" It was so funny to hear this tiny little voice using the word damaged. Throughout the flight, he would periodically yell out, "Daddy! Daddy! I love you, Daddy!" I am sure that other people were probably annoyed because this went on for hours, but Drew and I were in stitches and still laugh about it :)
House looks amazing. Totally. Obsessed. with the new mason jar chandelier. so perfect. Are you going to hang your darling Merry Christmas anthro sign up somewhere? That was my fave decoration in the R Street house :) Great job on keeping your Christmas decor classy, simple and beautiful.
I love your house! Wow!
The story about the little girl is so charming.
Happy Christmas!
Your young girl airplane story was just precious. I work in the aviation industry (for an American airplane manufacturer), I travel quite frequently for work and I swear to you that I will be doing the very same thing the next time I fly. I'm just as impatient! Love it. :)
(Also, high five on the awesome blog. I appreciate your effort and candor, and I'm sure I am not alone with that sentiment.)
Cute little side story!
The thing that I really like about your holiday decor is the three gifts on the table. So cute having them all lined up in a row like that.
Joe Mullen loved the airplane story
love it!
